🎾 Junior Finals Wrap-Up & Save the Date

22 Mar by Kathryn Lagarrigue

What a finals weekend for our juniors! Close matches, big wins, tough losses, doubles tiebreak drama and fantastic team spirit were all on display across both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday Results
JOSD 3 finished Runners Up by just one game after an outstanding unbeaten home & away season. This group has played some excellent tennis all season and clearly enjoys being part of the same team.
JOSD 4 were crowned Premiers the hard way, coming from 4th on the ladder and defeating both the 1st and 2nd placed teams during the finals series — a terrific achievement and a great example of peaking at the right time.
Rubbers 14 came away with the win despite the added challenge of an unwell player on the day, showing strong teamwork and determination.
Rubbers 6 also had a thrilling victory in a very close match, with an exciting doubles tiebreak set helping decide the result. They also take home the unofficial “Sportsmanship Award” for the fantastic respect shown by both teams throughout the day — a great example to all players of how to compete hard while still showing outstanding sportsmanship.
Sunday Results
Girls 1 faced a strong unbeaten opposition and finished Runners Up, while maintaining their trademark smiles and positive team spirit.
Boys 4 defeated the top team in a tough and emotional match, riding the ups and downs of finals tennis to come out on top.
Rubbers 13 produced a strong performance to overcome the top-placed team, showing composure and teamwork under pressure.
Our top team Rubbers 4 also secured the win in another tight contest, with a doubles tiebreak effectively deciding the match — a timely reminder of just how important doubles can be.
Our Green Ball team, one of our younger junior teams, finished Runners Up against tough opposition. A fantastic effort and a valuable learning experience that will set them up well for future seasons.
It was wonderful to see so many players supporting each other across the weekend and representing the club with great sportsmanship. Check out the photo gallery in the App for all the finalists.
